We gave Nayeli solids for the first time today. A few weeks ago I spoke with the UCSF nutrionist in the CDH clinic over the phone. The nutrionist at UCSF told us to start with a few spoonfuls of Rice Cereal once a day. She said if Nayeli does well with it then we can increase it to twice a day then three times a day. Nayeli was ready the moment she saw the spoon coming towards her. She ate like if she had been eating from a spoon for a while. She enjoyed eating from a spoon and kept wanting more. She would grunt and then try to get the spoon or bowl. She hasn't puked and hasn't had any allergic reactions. We are going to try to give her the rice cereal once a day for a few days and then slowly increase it. The nutrionist also said once she handles the rice cereal well we can move her onto fruits and veggies as long as they are blended with my breastmilk.
We noticed Nayeli's bottom two front teeth peeking through her gums a few days ago. Everytime we try to take a picture she sticks out her tongue. The weather has been warming up here. It got to be over 90 twice. We are trying to figure out how to cool off the house with the AC without making it too cold for Nayeli. We are looking forward to winter lockdown being over. We are counting the days. We thank God for each milestone with Nayeli.

Nayeli is a pro with the spoon!! How adorable to see her reach for the bowl and open her mouth for the spoon. Fingers crossed here, no allergies and she keeps doing well with the rice cereal!

Hi Fer,
I just wanted to thank you for your comment and kind prayers.
Your little girl is an absolute treasure and an amazing inspiration to us and our bump!
I cannot believe how beautifully she is doing - praise God for your little miracle. I pray we will be able to share similar accomplishments of baby James with you.
Thanks again for your support.

Wait till you start on fruits! Carter loves fruit and sweet potatoes. We tried green peas today and he was like, "NO WAY!"
She looks so dainty and sweet--not wanting to make a mess! :)
What a big girl...what a pro!!!
