Kitty and Boo

I am going to miss waking up every morning and seeing Neyeli like this. She is so cute, smiley, and talkative in the morning. I go back to work in two weeks:( I am enjoying every single minute!

Nayeli had her hearing test last Thursday. She passed! They did different tests. It was hard to see the Doctor do this one test on Nayeli. She put these things in her ear. Nayeli did not like it and cried until it was over. I was upset with the Nurse and Shane took pictures, as usual, to capture the moment. The next hearing test is in six months. We are so proud of our little girl! Here is a video of Nayeli after her Doctors appt.
This past week she has gotten stronger and stands up in her Pak N Play every time we put her in it. She stays standing for almost 10 minutes. Once she gets tired she gets this look of frustration on her face. It is cute! She is teething again! She is drooling all over herself and bites everything she can, including the dogs tails. Twinkie walks away while Molly gives her tons of doggy kisses. When Nayeli crawls by Twinkie and Molly she squints and waits for them to kiss her. It's funny to watch. Last weekend she started trying to say "Kitty" and she has now said it a few times. Shane didn't count it as her first word until he heard it himself. He finally gave her a thumbs up this weekend and acknowledged she said "kitty." Nayeli also is trying to say book. She will look at her books and say "boo."

We are doing baby sign language with her as well. So far she just giggles when we do the dog sign or just looks at us in amazement. She loves to listen to music. Anytime she hears any tunes she will start bouncing up in down where ever she is. If we are holding her she get so happy. Daddy was very proud of Nayeli as she showed a love for live "Blue Grass" music at a steak cook off we went to this weekend. Grandpa Jim would be especially proud of his granddaughter!
Steam Train! It's great during the week, no crowds! She makes the funniest face when we go through the tunnel. Showing Nayeli the animals at the wildlife rehabilitation center. She saw a grey horned owl, golden eagle, red tail hawk, coyotes, and more! All of us at the dog park for a doxie meetup. Molly waiting patiently for a piece of cereal.

Angel Ireland Rose

I am deeply saddened to write this. Ireland Rose lost her battle with CDH this morning. Mike and Chanda had to make a decision that no parent should ever have to make. They chose to end the suffering of their beautiful little baby knowing that she would not survive without being on ECMO. We are praying for the Brady family.

Pulling up and Standing

Last Saturday Nayeli was in her Pak N Play while we were eating dinner. She decided to try to stand up. She did it five times. Each time she did she was so happy with herself. We would applaud her and Twinkie and Molly would bark to cheer her on. Over the weekend she woke up several times during the night. Ever since we have changed her feeds she has been sleeping throough the night again. I hope I didn't just jinx that. We were feeding her Oatmeal cereal and veggies for dinner and started to feed her meat and veggies. I am still cooking her baby food whenever I can. We also have introduced cottage cheese and cheese and she loves the cheese but is not too crazy about the cottage cheese. She loves her fruits and always has room for them after every meal.

Today Nayeli is trying something new. She looks like she wants to crawl and walk. She hasn't moved but has done that position several times today.
Here are the videos from Saturday.

10 months!

I can't believe you are 10 months. I completely understand now when people say "they grow up so fast" They weren't kidding.

Your little personality is starting to shine through. Now that you can crawl you are much happier. You like to explore things that are not your toys. Hmmmmm.....we should just stop getting you toys. You have a fascination with Twinkie and Molly's water bowl. You see them drink water and you get such a big kick out of it. Then you go straight for their bowl and you want to put your hands in it. You love their dog toys along with Max's cat toys. You make us laugh when you get so excited. When you are sitting you will bounce up and down and flap your arms up and down and then you begin to clap saying "Eeeeeh". When you are crawling and you are checking a new thing out you will do this funny sound like you have something in your teeth and then squeal. You are trying so hard to stand up, you get so upset that you can't. You absoulutely hate us changing your diaper. It's funny because you used to cry from having a wet diaper and wanted it changed right away. You get so upset from us changing you that you kick non stop and roll all over the place until it's done. You said "Kitty" three times today when you were looking at Max. You giggled and I think you knew what you were saying. Everything you do is a miracle in our eyes. Happy 10 months Nayeli Faith! Nayeli is practicing her bubbles from swim class.

Onesies ......the Finale

These Onesies were made by our friends at our baby shower in LA last year. These are the last ones of the series. She had sizes from 3 months to 12 months. I can't believe she has gone through all of them and these are the last ones. Here are the pictures and a montage of all of them.

Nayeli meets her older CDH sister

We met with another CDH family today. Lauren was born with LCDH. She received a scholarship from Breath of Hope. It was great meeting her and her mom Tina. We asked alot of questions and she was so nice in responding. She was born undiagnosed. She was in the NICU for 3 weeks. She didn't need ECMO and still has the original gortex patch inside her. She has some occasional heartburn, backaches and had minor cramps on her side but aside from all of that she is one healthy teenager. She looks great! Tina said that the Doctors told her that her lung size was a normal size when she turned one. We are hoping and praying UCSF says the same thing for Nayeli. Lauren is such a sweet and beautiful young lady. She is going to do wonderful things in her future. She showed us her scar. I told her I wish I would've loved to have met her last year when my world was caving and was trying really hard to stay positive. She is such an inspiration and a miracle! We plan on staying in touch as she starts college this September.

When we got home we had a little photo shoot. I remember last year around this time buying the outfit Nayeli is wearing. I remember all the emotions like if it were yesterday. I bought it along with her teddy bear blankie that has a lady bug on it. The teddy bear blankie was with her everyday in the NICU. This outfit meant so much to me because I prayed each day I would get to see her in it. That is the day I started to sing the song "The sun will come out tommorow". I don't think I could sing that song without crying. I also sang that to her while she was in NICU. She is outgrowing her cute outfit and I am so happy I got to see her in it. CDH has changed me as a person and has made me realize how fragile life is. Our daughter is a fighter and is so strong. She has overcome so much in 9 months. Nayeli is a mircacle and is our little blessing.
Twinkie and Molly didn't want to move from the towel. They stayed in this position until I took a picture of them. They are so funny! The other day after Nayeli had her swim lesson and having lunch with Godma Harris. She was so tired she fell asleep in this position. I had to take a picture before moving her. I think she saw how comfortable Carter sleeps this way she decided to try it.
