Homeward Bound!

This morning the Dr's told me during their rounds that we are ready to go home and being discharged on Friday.

Nayeli was sleeping in my arms and Shane had just left to get us breakfast. I wanted to scream and I had tears of happiness. I can't believe that our little girl is coming home with us. June 4th was the day we found out about Nayeli being diagnosed with CDH. From that day on we prayed to God to give us the strength each day to get us through this CDH battle. Our prayers have been answered and we are so grateful and thankful. We know miracles DO HAPPEN. Holding our baby girl in our arms is the best feeling we have ever had. She is truly a miracle. When we thought there were days we couldn't go on we prayed and didn't give up faith in God.

The Dr's. said that the x-ray from yesterday came back and there was no fluid in Nayeli's lungs and there is a just a little fluid in her chest between her left lung and heart that they are not worried about (normal for the space in her chest). They told me that it looks like it's going away on it's own. I was so happy to hear that and couldn't wait to tell Shane. Nayeli's left eye cleared up and looks great today also. The Lord truly does make miracles happen.

I called up my dad who is staying at our house and watching our dogs and cat. I told him the good news and he is bringing Nayeli's car seat tommorow that we got for her from our baby shower gift money. We are so excited!

Nayeli had a good day today. She got fussy at around 5pm. We gave her a bath and Shane held her and that calmed her down. She is daddy's little girl!

God always finds a way to remind us of his strength and presence among us. As we have mentioned before, we believe the only one that could have blessed us with this miracle is the Lord. With that, this is one of our many favorite versus in the bible, and is a good description of how blessed we are and feel!

Chronicles 16:8
Give praise to the Lord and CALL on his name
Make known among the nations WHAT HE HAS DONE
Sing to him, sing praise to him
Tell of all his WONDERFUL ACTS
Glory in his holy name
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice
Look to the Lord and his STRENGTH
Seek his face ALWAYS
Remember the WONDERS he has done,
HIS MIRACLES,
and the judgements he pronounced....
He is the Lord our God
and his judgements are in all the earth.

GOD IS WONDERFUL!! NAYELI IS A MIRACLE and that is just wonderful news you get to take that beautiful baby home very soon. She is going to love her nursery you have decorated for her. Tears of joy for you both and especially Nayeli!! You had an awesome day and it sounds like her test results were just fine. What a glorious day it will when you take your little girl home to her very own room and crib!

GOD IS GOOD!!!!!! YES! I knew it I knew it I knew it! I told you guys, huh? I had a feeling she was on the fast track! Congratulations and enjoy your home tomorrow. It's kind of surreal leaving the NICU and the room or space you've known for so long. Nayeli's nursery is so very cute I just know she's going to look all over and take it in! That's what John did when we were in his Alaskan nursery at last.
WELCOME HOME NAYELI!!! PARTY TIME!!

When you have a chance, look back to the beginning of your blog and you can see how far this wonderful baby has come..there may have been days that dragged by for you, but look at the miracle that has the name Nayeli. It was no accident that God gave her to you. He knew you would be strong enough to get through this and He tested your faith at times, but you passed His test. Nayeli is a very lucky girl. She is surrounded by two parents who adore her and she has a whole group of extended family and friends who pray for her every day. I am so happy for you all. You will now get to know what it feels like to be a family in the comfort of your own home! Love and continued prayers, Gail

Thessalonians 5:18 - "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God."
This verse talks about the power of faith and thanksgiving. It says that you must believe in God's will and should trust Him because only He knows what is good for you. Once you will start trusting his will you will give thanks for everything which happens.

Congratulations! What great news...and answer to prayer! The Lord has truly shown Himself through your beautiful daughter, and her recovery! Enjoy your time at home with her! (I don't think I put my baby girl down for months after we got her home!) I pray that she thrives at home, while staying healthy and growing strong!

To God be the Glory! I'm so happy for y'all. Speaking from experience, PLEASE heed the words of advice from the docs about keeping your precious child secluded. The last thing you want is for her to catch an "innocent" cold and be right back in the hospital. We are sending you many prayers and enjoy this time.

God Bless,

Liz, I know nothing is for sure, but I always had this strong feeling things were going to work out in your favor. I do not know how to explain it, but you and I already talked about it. You do not know how happy I am for you now that you are able to be home where your family belongs. Now the real fun begins. I can hardly wait to be able to come over and visit. I will continue to pray. Nayeli is true love.
